Mr. Mac presented himself to the children in a true to life manner i.e. workboots, high visibilty jacket, etc. We see these aspects as educational opportunities for the preschoolers to make links with the surrounding community and worldly experiences.
Doug the Digger offers a number of safety aspects that children need to be aware of around construction sites and building zones. Mr. Mac helped pointout some of these aspects while reading the story to the children.
